Lockton Guangzhou Team meets local disabled running clubs in HKNPIS’ donation event

Last weekend, our Lockton Guangzhou team joined a donation ceremony co-hosted by 5 disabled running clubs in Hong Kong and Guangdong province. Led by our CEO Greater China, Alex Yip and his running partner Mok Kim Wing, CE of Hong Kong Network for The Promotion of Inclusive Society (HKNPIS), the teams enthusiastically went for a guide running practice, a first time for some of them, in Nanjiao Park of Panyu downtown.

Arranged by HKNPIS with Blind Association of Panyu, Guangdong and supported by Lockton and RunOurCity Foundation, this gathering of over 100 runners aimed to help the associations of the visually impaired in Guangdong by donating running gears and through this exchange, to promote inclusion and cooperation between neighbouring cities of the Greater Bay Area.

Alex Yip and Kim Mok, the running duo of the past 3 years, have made tremendous strides in advocating inclusion in sports and encouraging business sector to give back to the community. From 10km trail runs to half-marathon, they have accomplished so much and inspired people to enjoy running where everyone with different abilities is welcomed and respected.

– A team composed of nearly 200 visually-impaired and hearing-impaired athletes in Hong Kong with a motto “can’t hear, can’t see, can marathon”.

– The first university students + visually impaired charity runners’ club in China which is based in the city of Maoming, southwest of Guangdong Province.

– A running club composed of 40+ visually impaired runners formed in 2017 which is based in the city of Jiangmen, south of Guangdong Province, China.

– A running club with over150 runners registered, both visually acute and impaired, which started their charity activities back in 2015 in the leading technical hub of Shenzhen, China.

– The first sports club formed in 2017 to promote inclusion in the city of Dongguan, the industrial city in Guangdong Province, China.
