We are thrilled to announce that Alex Yip, our CEO Greater China, has been named one of Asia’s Most Inspiring Executives by the Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability Awards (ACES Awards) 2022. This award recognizes his dedication in leading Lockton Greater China which he valiantly aspires to the founding tenements of the group and has taken it to higher plane of business productivity and organizational efficiency.
Presented tonight (on 18 November) during MORS Group’s Annual Gala Event Finale, Alex received the award and celebrated with Lockton Asia team at its majestic ballroom of JW Marriot Hotel, Kuala Lumper.
“It is an honour to receive such recognition from a panel comprising so many highly respected professionals. With this market acknowledgement, my fellow colleagues and I are inspired to go further and set new industry benchmarks while creating greater value for our clients and community,” said Alex.
With 35 years of experience in the field, Alex has served clients from Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China, Taiwan, ASEAN and Central Asian countries early in his career. He then completed 24 years with JLT with various senior positions held in the region before finally joined Lockton in 2014. Under his leadership, Lockton Greater China has expanded significantly both in manpower and in terms of revenue with a record turnaround time of four years. Apart from work, in late 2021 he became Chairman of Hong Kong Confederation of Insurance Brokers (HKCIB) where he had served as various committee members for years and as Deputy Chairman since 2019.
As a business leader, Alex knows exactly what can keep a professional team thriving – engaging employees with a clear guidance, encouraging everyone on personal and professional growth, and maintaining a positive attitude in the company through leading by example. In recent years, he advocates for Lockton’s renewed ESG policies with untiring persistence especially in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and efforts to drive sustainability in the workplace.
For the past 5 years, Lockton Hong Kong has been honoured and given awards by local unions of businesses and charities like the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) for the company’s work on community services. He has also been awarded Director of the Year 2021 in the ‘Non-listed Companies Categories’ by Hong Kong Institute of Directors (HKIoD).
Alex’s professionalism and enthusiasm are contagious, so much so that Lockton Greater China’s clients, volunteers, business and charity partners all rally to support his endeavours. Last year, Lockton Hong Kong organized a three-part sport challenge where Alex can be seen canoeing, cycling, and running with disabled athletes. The event has gathered more than HK$ 500k for Hong Kong Network of Promotion of Inclusive Society (HKNPIS).
